Being the Bolly remix king, which is your fave phase in Bollywood?

I love the ’90s! All the songs are my favourites.

One retro track that should make a comeback?

Yeh kaali kaali aankhen from Baazigar, this song is too good! Then Saat samundar paar from Vishwatma.

One song that is best not remixed? Every song should be recreated and remixed so that the next generation gets to hear it in the modern current sound.

Fave hangouts in Calcutta?

Peter Cat. Park Street is happening and full of life. My fave places are all the cool and happening clubs and bars. They are all so good that they don’t have a best... Nocturne, The Grid, Park Street Privilege Club, UG Reincarnated, Gold… the list will go on and on…

Your fave track of 2017 so far?

Ullu ka pattha from Jagga Jasoos. It’s an amazing song and sends a current through one’s body when you are hearing this! I have done a future house remix of this to be released soon.

How is it going with the Snapchat Spectacles? Fave feature?

I love the glasses and the best feature is you can record whatever you want without having to have the phone in your hand. You could be riding a bike, playing tennis, skateboarding or even having a drink and giving someone a high five.

“I love Calcutta so much so that I make it a point to play here every three-four months! I will be back again hopefully during Durga Puja,” said DJ Aqeel.

“Ullu ka pattha, Urvashi Urvashi, Despacito to Gulabi aankhen, DJ Aqeel’s playlist had something from every genre catering to varied moods of the crowd,” said Kriti Mundra (left) with friend Tripti Bajaj.

In between all that non-stop dancing, flavoured herbal Meduse shishas kept the party peeps busy. Yes, PPC has the same shisha that you get in Thalassa, Goa.

You know you will have a sick night when the king of remix, DJ Aqeel, mans the console. The action was at the Park Street Privilege Club on July 22 where the Bombay DJ landed up at midnight to spin the best of Bolly music for the party held in association with t2. So which tracks got the loudest roars? Kala chashma, The humma song, Gulabi aankhen, Sara zamana haseeno ka deewana and a smashing remix of the latest party track Ullu ka pattha.
