Even as the primetime IPL craze on TV forces producers to frantically push back the release of their films — Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Ferrari Ki Sawaari has vamoosed from April 27 to June15 — Yash Raj Films has decided to bring forward the release date of Ishaqzaade by a week. But make no mistake, they are being IPL-clever rather than IPL-brave. The Habib Faisal-directed romance that marks the debut of Boney Kapoor’s son Arjun and also stars Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Parineeti, will now open on May 11. “Since the IPL crunch matches will start from May 18, the production house thought it would be better to release Ishaqzaade a week earlier,” said a source. So what if it now clashes with Karisma Kapoor’s comeback film Dangerous Ishhq?
