The Simpsons
Homer’s beer song is something all beer lovers can relate to. After his heartfelt goodbye to drinking, Homer recalls the first time he discovered beer, buying it illegally at 17 and his consistent love ever since. But now he has to give it up and we, too, sympathise with him. Even Barney Gumble attacking the beer truck because of his love for it is something we can totally relate with.

Dazed and Confused
What happens when the hope of a house party with beer kegs gets crushed due to strict parents? Time to go to the woods! And that was exactly what the characters of this film did. The beer party managed to unite all the high school students. Even though we have never had a beer party in the woods, we feel nostalgic about our high school days when none of us were of the age to buy beer.

The Shawshank Redemption
This scene is a shining example of the fact that not all beer scenes in movies have to be about partying and having fun. After helping the guards launder money and get off the IRS radar, Andy asks for three bottles of beer for each of his co-workers who had just finished their assigned job. That quiet moment of manly tranquillity becomes the turning point of Andy’s life in the prison.

The Big Bang Theory
Sheldon Cooper is one of the most entertaining characters on TV when sober, while the drunk Sheldon is on a different level altogether. When Sheldon is being offered a beer by Bernadette’s dad, the two bond in no time while getting drunk. In his inebriated state, Sheldon calls Howard a ‘clown’, says that Bernadette is really tiny, and, after apologising to everyone for being rude, slaps Amy on her butt, ordering her to get them more beer!

Breaking Bad
Remember Schraderbrau? This was Hank’s very own, home-made beer that he gifted to people at parties. The scene in which he’s humming as he bottles the beer, Hank looks the happiest and we can’t help but smile at him. Though we don’t know what kind of beer Schraderbrau is, fans have speculated that it’s a kind of ale. We’re sure it would have been brewed to “silky perfection”, just as he promised, right before all the bottles blew up because he over-carbonated them.

Freaks and Geeks
In the second episode the distinction between the ‘freaks’ and ‘geeks’ had become clearer after an overwhelming pilot. However, when Lindsay’s (a ‘freak’) parents were out of town, Daniel planned a house party at her place. After Lindsay’s brother Sam (a ‘geek’) found this out, he planned to switch the keg of beer with alcohol-free beer. His plan eventually failed and everyone got drunk.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
Who can forget the scene where Milkha meets Stella? Milkha, who is shy when offered beer, downs bottle after bottle, dances his heart out, ends up drunk and in bed with her, which makes him late for practice. Our fave moment? When asked why he was late to practice, an out-of-breath Milkha replies in a guilty voice, Kal raat beer pi li thi Sir!

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
This show wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for beer. The episode where the gang is up against the owner of the North Korean brewery in a battle for the title of Best Microbrewery is probably one of the funniest beer moments on TV.

Django Unchained
Dr Schultz pours two glasses of beer in an empty bar and offers one to Django — this one is an iconic scene in which the beer representative of equality and friendship between two people in different circumstances. When Dr Schultz offers the beer to Django, he proposes an agreement, on equal terms, with equal profit for both of them. To the newly freed former slave, Django, this must have meant a lot, since he had come expecting the worst of white men.

How I Met Your Mother
The five attractive youngsters in this show used to hang out and drink beer at their fave MacLaren’s Pub every night. We can’t forget Marshall’s alter ego, Beercules. Apprehensive about the background check while applying to a new job, Marshall goes up to the college friend who had uploaded a drunk video of him streaking around campus naked, screaming, “all hail Beercules”, interrupting a news broadcast! As Marshall comes back home dejected, we see that his friend had not only managed to get him drunk but also naked on the streets, proclaiming himself as Beercules again! Needless to say, this scene still cracks all of us up!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Butterbeer is everywhere in the Harry Potter universe, but we especially love the scene in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince where Hermione, Ron and Harry are at the The Three Broomsticks. Ron awkwardly points out a beer moustache on Hermione’s face, and we begin to realise that the two are slowly becoming more than friends.
