Jitendra, the sound expert at 91.9
Friends FM
The week gone by rocked on 91.9 Friends FM with eight major associations, from J.D. Birla Institute’s (department of management) Invictus ’15 to Xavier’s Management Convention ’15 (presented by the department of business administration) at St. Xavier’s College from where we went live with Cyrus Broacha. Things will only get bigger, so stay hooked to “experience the change”.
Speaking of big, sound is an important element for a radio station. So, how do we prepare the promos, bumpers (lines between songs), effects…? I spoke to Jiten (Jitendra), the sound expert at 91.9 Friends FM.

To me it’s all about #fun #masti #hungama. Just play the moments, pause the memories, stop the pain and rewind the happiness.
The sound for Friends....
Based on the scripts that are presented, I design the SFX, transition and so on. Then it goes through a long process of recording, editing, mixing and mastering.
How did it all begin?
I wanted to be in a profession where music would be around me all the time. I started as a location sound recordist and then moved into radio in 2008. That was the best decision I ever made.
