Choreographer-turned-director Sankaraiyya’s debut film Khokababu, starring hit pair Dev and Subhashree, is almost complete. The only thing left are five song sequences that’ll be shot in Mumbai, Paris and Switzerland.
“We’ve decided to shoot four songs in Paris and Switzerland because those are still virgin locations for Bengali films,” said Sankaraiyya, who is confident of delivering a “super hit”.
Khokababu revolves around the rivalry between two dons, played by Ferdous and Ashish Vidyarthi.
Subhashree plays Ferdous’s younger sister and Dev is his employee. Ashish tries to kill Subhashree but Dev saves her from his attacks. “I’m very happy the way Khokababu has shaped up. The film has action, comedy and romance in the right doses. The most positive part about the film is that we are going to shoot two songs in Switzerland. I shot there for Shedin Dekha Hoyechhilo and Romeo (yet to release). Switzerland is a lucky place for me and I love it there. It’s my dream location,” smiles Dev.
After Switzerland, it’s going to be Paris for team Khokababu. “In Paris we will shoot under the Eiffel Tower. Wow! That’s super cool because so far I’ve seen the Eiffel Tower only in Hollywood and Bollywood films,” Dev adds.
His leading lady Subhashree is excited, too. Busy packing to leave for the Swiss Alps on October 25, she tells t2: “I am excited and scared at the same time because it’s going to be so cold in Switzerland and you know the kind of costumes we are made to wear! But it will be my first trip to Switzerland and I’m looking forward to it.”
Khokababu is slated for a December release.
In the t2 edition dated October 13, the name of filmmaker Sandipan Roy went as Sandipan Ganguly. The error is regretted.
