November started on a high note, no pun intended, with the sixth annual dinner of the Calcutta Wine Club (CWC), hosted at The Oberoi Grand. With a nine-course dinner, seven kinds of wine, a photography corner and nearly 75 guests, the evening was ‘buzzing’ from the word go. Only t2 was there.

On the menu: Dishes that are traditionally served during Loi Krathong (festival of lights) in Thailand. For appetisers, vegetarians can pick the Tung Tong (vegetable dimsums) while the non-vegetarians can pick the Goong Pahd Bai Phakchi Lae Prik (prawns with coriander leaves and chilli grilled and served with chilli sauce). For the main course, Pla Hamour Tod Namprikpow (crispy fried fillets of fish tossed in roasted chilli paste with Thai sweet basil) and Phak Pahd Nopa Kao (nine types of stir-fried vegetables in light soya sauce) can be paired with Khao Hom Mali Prik Je (Thai rice tossed with vegetables, corn, peppers, peanuts and chillies).
Pocket pinch: Rs 1,300-plus for two.
