On Monday afternoon, Jeet, the Bachchan star and Bachchan fan, wore a smile. The “full-on entertainment package” of Bachchan — the Friday release produced by Reliance Entertainment in association with Jeet’s Grassroot Entertainment — seems to have struck “the right chord” with his fans. So what are the paisa-wasool films that have struck a chord with Jeet the film buff? Read on...

Namak Halaal: I was completely bowled over by the dialogues and performances. Who can forget Bachchan saab’s famous lines — “You see sir, I can talk English, I can walk English, I can laugh English... because English is such a funny language.” We would try to mouth those lines, Big B-style. It is such a hilarious film.

Amar Akbar Anthony: It was a typical Manmohan Desai film where you joyfully suspended disbelief. This film also had great dialogues and performances, and I remember being quite miffed with Vinod Khanna as in the film he beats up my hero Amitabh Bachchan (laughs).

Andaz Apna Apna: Aamir Khan and Salman Khan shared some super chemistry between them. It’s a laugh riot and I fell off my seat at Priya laughing!

Satte Pe Satta: It’s a multi-starrer entertainer and director Raj Sippy sustains the fun till the end. It was so innovative — the characters were named after the days in a week!

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani: I watched this lovely romantic film with wife Mohna and danced to Badtameez dil at home. Ranbir Kapoor’s energy was infectious. The film was a masterstroke by Ayan Mukerji, and it was complemented by some nice music by Pritam.

Dabangg: It was a full-on entertainer. I loved Salman’s character Chulbul Pandey and his dialogues. By the way, Mohna’s fave Bolly star is Salman Khan!

Dil Chahta Hai: This is the perfect example of a buddy film. It’s a youth-centric comedy and quite a trendsetter. I saw the film with my friends in Bombay. I loved the way Farhan Akhtar captured the camaraderie between friends. You could really identify with the characters. The story was fresh, the performances super and I loved Farhan’s style of direction.

Jab We Met: Apart from being a great romantic comedy, it’s a superb road film that’s much better than Ram Gopal Varma’s Road (laughs out loud). Kareena Kapoor stole the show. Of course, the chemistry between Kareena and Shahid was sizzling.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara: This was a classic. It had a nice vibe, great songs and totally connected with the youth. Last year I was in Spain with wife and daughter Navanya during the Pujas (a large portion of Zindagi... was set in Spain). We were there for seven days and divided our time between Barcelona and Costa Brava. We shopped and went on a city tour in Barcelona, chilled out in Costa Brava and enjoyed some lovely Spanish tap dance and sangria. We also went jet-skiing and paragliding.

3 Idiots: I watched it with friends and family and loved the film for its story, dialogues and performances. It was so witty and funny, and managed to convey a fantastic message.
