Aritra Mukherjee’s third film Fatafati, starring Ritabhari Chakraborty, Abir Chatterjee and Swastika Dutta, completed 25 days in the theatres recently. The film witnessed houseful shows even in its fourth week. The team celebrated this moment with a cake-cutting ceremony at PVR Inox South City, where the whole cast and crew were present, including Ritabhari, Abir, Swastika, Soma Banerjee, Deboshree Ganguly, Sanghasri Sinha, Arijita Mukhopadhyay and others. “It’s really a happy moment for me. The film has got an immense response not only in West Bengal but also outside. This means a lot. Even shows in Bangalore and Hyderabad were houseful on weekends. It is so satisfying when the audience, especially women, come up to you and say that you gave them a new breath of fresh air to live life happily. I was surprised when even men came and complimented me about this film. The tagline has become a craze. Each and every compliment that I got is very close to my heart. One gentleman I met in South City told me that this was his third time watching Fatafati and this time he brought both his family and his in-laws. It was really a wonderful feeling,” said Aritra. “We are overwhelmed with the love and affection we are getting from the audience. Out of 25 days, Nandan has been houseful for more than 20 days. It feels like the hard work and pain I have been through for this film is totally worth it,” said Ritabhari. “Fatafati is very close to my heart. It is a film which our society needed I feel and the way it has been appreciated by the audience is overwhelming. I feel 25 days is just the start, this film will go a very long way,” said Abir. Produced by Windows and presented by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, Fatafati is Aritra Mukherjee’s third film after Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti and Baba Baby O…. The story revolves around Phullora, a tailor from the suburbs with a gifted sense of design who is ridiculed for being on the heavier side. The film goes on to show her journey when she emerges as a fashion influencer despite the odds.
