Onscreen couple Phoebe Dyvenor and Alden Ehrenreich’s relationship runs into rough weather following the former’s unexpected promotion, triggering a competitive rat race between the two and unearthing secrets from their past in the trailer of Netflix’s upcoming erotic thriller Fair Play.
Dropped by the streamer on Tuesday, the one-minute-19-second-long video shows Dyvenor and Ehrenreich’s characters living in New York City and working together at a cutthroat hedge-fund company. However, when Phoebe’s Emily gets an unexpected promotion, their relationship is pushed to the brink, resulting in jealousy, pain and revenge.
The couple’s once idyllic relationship turns into a toxic mess, forcing them to question their future together despite a steamy chemistry between the two. The soundtrack by Brian McOmber further echoes the tension between the couple.
Fair Play is Chloe Domont’s directorial debut. The film will delve deep into the changing dynamics of maintaining romantic relationships within a workplace. Portraying sex and romance against the landscape of money and career, the trailer promises a thriller showcasing the challenges one faces on their path to fulfilling their ambitions.
