Rose Ice Cream @Pabrai’s Fresh and Naturelle

You don’t have to look at this one with rose-tinted glasses! It’s rose all the way — from the taste to the fragrance. Made with natural rose oil, you’ll find dried petals in the creamy ice cream. Available in scoop and tub options at 13D Russel Street (beside Floriana), and at kiosks at Spencer’s (Mani Square, South City Mall and near City Centre New Town).

Pocket pinch: Rs 60 per scoop and Rs 220 for 500ml tub.

Black pepper Cheesecake @Caramelle

This beauty tends to get lost among the other bites at the cafe-cum-patisserie at 45 Jhowtala Road (diagonally opposite Modern High School for Girls). But make sure to include it on your next visit to PYT Pritika Sen’s Caramelle. Made with Philadelphia cheese, wait for the peppery kick after it melts in the mouth! If you like the punchy pepper Amul Cheese Spread, you’ll LOVE this!

Pocket pinch: Rs 115 (plus taxes).

Parwal Aur Mirchaanwala Halwa @The Funjabi Tadka

Halwa made from potol or pointed gourd and chillies has surprisingly become the best-selling dessert at TFT! Doesn’t sound exciting enough? Try some and you’ll be eating your words too. Available at the Southern Avenue and Salt Lake Sector V outlets.

Pocket pinch: Rs 150 (plus taxes).

Green Tea Tiramisu @The Flying Monk

The monks of this Oriental restaurant (Woodburn Park, next to Subway) flew from Italy to Japan to create this yummy take on the tiramisu. Japanese green tea infused with Irish Baileys to make the Italian tiramisu sets the tastebuds working from the first bite. So, take a break from your hot cuppa of green tea and indulge in a dessert-y version.

Pocket pinch: Rs 375 (plus taxes).

Masala chai ice cream @ mrs. magpie

Now you have more reasons to visit this cute li’ cafe at 570 Lake Terrace Road (near Lake Girls’ School) — homemade ice creams! Its quirky maker Sohini Behrens recently introduced Cheesecake, Ginger and Banana yogurt flavours and climbing up the popularity ladder now is the Masala Chai. The distinct flavours of cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and ginger — usually enjoyed in a hot sip — now in a frozen form.

Pocket pinch: Rs 75 (regular) and Rs 105 (large).

Taro Frozen Yogurt @Yoforia

The very idea of boiled ol (taro) can put off most people. But this oft-neglected vegetable has found a place of pride in Yoforia (8/1 Loudon Street). This light purple frozen yogurt is so popular that it’s one of the few flavours available all the time and not on rotation! Throw in a handful of fresh fruits or strawberry poppings (pops in your mouth!) and tuck in.

Pocket pinch: Rs 89 (plus taxes) for 100g.a

Fig & Honey Kulfi @Veda

You might find fig ice cream but to find kulfi with figs is a treat you cannot miss. Unlike the street-side kulfis that have a grainy texture, the Fig & Honey Kulfi at the Park Street address is smooth and creamy on the tongue. The plump, soft, sweet figs with a touch of honey hit the right sweet chord. Going unconventional, chef Debasish Saha serves it not with falooda but on a bed of rice noodles.

Pocket pinch: Rs 195 (plus taxes).

Mustard & Tender Coconut Mousse @Bohemian

Using an ingredient as pungent as mustard in a dessert is just the kind of “challenge” chef Joymalya Banerjee looks for. Combined with mild coconut, “boom!” it explodes in your mouth! Inspired from the good ol’ Daab Chingri, it is now a favourite at the 32/4 Old Ballygunge eatery. Plain awesomeness.

Pocket pinch: Rs 154 (plus taxes).
