Over 500 students from city colleges let their creativity flow over the past month by participating in Dream Zone Artisan 2015, a freestyle drawing competition, organised by Dream Zone School of Creative Studies, held in association with The Telegraph-YOU

Students from a number of colleges, including New Alipore College, Maulana Azad College, Heramba Chandra College, Seth Anandaram Jaipuria College and Basanti Devi College, had signed up. They had to pick a stream from interior designing, fashion designing and animation.

Out of hundreds of applicants, a few lucky ones were chosen to attend a workshop-cum-counselling session at CADD Centre, which teaches 2D and 3D modelling, analysis and project planning to engineering students, at Karnani Mansion on
Park Street.
Here they were familiarised with the job market in the designing and animation industry. Dream Zone School of Creative Studies, which has over 50 branches in India and abroad, is the creative venture of CADD Centre. It started operations in the city this September, training students in fashion and interior designing as well as animation.

“We encourage students to follow their passion because if you don’t enjoy your profession, it gets difficult. Artisan is helping many students discover their passion,” said Somali Sinha, centre head, Dream Zone School of Creative Studies, Park Street.

At Dream Zone Artisan 2015, Ditsa Mukherjee of Dr Sudhir Chandra Sur Degree Engineering College topped fashion designing, Indranil Ghosh of Jaipuria College placed first in interior designing and Soumyadip Shome from Maulana Azad College won in animation. All winners received cash prizes.
