These Superhit Bolly Dance Moves Have Had Us Grooving This Year. Pick Your Fave And Tell T2@abp.in Published 07.06.14, 12:00 AM

Sunny sunny: Yaariyan

The credit for the best bit of the otherwise big bore called Yaariyan goes to Yo Yo Honey Singh. The party man came up with this fun and foot-tapping number shot on the pristine beaches of Australia, its moods and moves becoming an instant hit with GenY.

We love: Its casually cool tone and simple dance moves — just about anyone can do the wave (inset), standing up or sitting down. And yes, Evelyn Sharma in that hot pink bikini.

Tune maari entriyaan: Gunday

The fun and flavour of Calcutta dominated this Sohail Sen chartbuster — from Bappi Lahiri singing Tomar mon ta diye jao, taratari eshe jao to the familiar sights and sounds of Dalhousie and Dakshineswar. Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor lent verve and vigour to this earworm, its dance moves being aped from para pandal to nightclub floor.

We love: The 1-2-3-4 ‘ghanti bajao’ step (inset). Simple and so much fun to do in tandem with friends!

London thumakda: Queen

Nothing can really match the energy and enthusiasm of a Delhi wedding. London thumakda, scored by Amit Trivedi, was one big party, scoring for its foot-tapping beat and Kangana Ranaut’s electric presence.

We love: The hand-on-hip move (inset). Yes, the good ol’ thumka never goes out of style.

Baby doll: Ragini MMS 2

Sunny Leone scorched the screen in this Kanika Kapoor number scored by Meet Bros-Anjjan. While the lyrics — Yeh duniya pital di, Baby doll main sone di — are on everyone’s lips, the sexy steps — Sunny cavorting in an itsy-bitsy gold number inside a cage — have become a rage.

We love: Sunny’s cutesy moves— hand on hip, finger on cheek, shake that booty... repeat (inset)!

Chaar botal vodka: Ragini MMS 2

Honey Singh was at it again, coming up with a chartbuster which became an instant hit, courtesy its infectious tune and catchy lyrics. No wonder more eyes in this song were on Yo Yo and — dare we say? — less on Sunny!

We love: The bit where Honey has Sunny in his arms and the two go hip wiggle, booty jiggle (inset). Total paisa vasool!

Palat: Main Tera Hero

Varun Dhawan showed us why he’s considered one of the best movers and shakers of the young Bolly brigade in this deliciously over-the-top number from dad David’s Main Tera Hero. The boob jiggle may have been eeewww, but we just couldn’t get enough of Varun’s Govinda-style moves.

We love: The Govinda-meets-Michael Jackson pelvic thrusts (in picture). And Varun’s mindboggling energy. Watch out Ranveer!

Party with the Bhoothnath: Bhoothnath returns

The Yo Yo man again, this time with Amitabh Bachchan. The nightclub rage, shot in the style of a music video, had Honey Singh’s ‘dracula’ avatar matching steps with Bhoothnath Big B. Yo Yo’s ‘Illuminati’ hand triangle sign (inset) is a huge hit on the party floor.

We love: Honey Singh and Bachchan’s skeleton avatars doing a fun jugalbandi towards the end, much like an MJ video of the ’80s. Oh-so-cool!

Locha-e-ulfat: 2 states

Offo may score for its beat and Mast magan for its soulful tone and tune, but when it comes to burning up the dance floor, Locha-e-ulfat is the number from this Arjun Kapoor-Alia Bhatt love story. Shot on a college campus, Arjun’s cool moves — we love that casual style and that heart-melting smile — lift this Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy song quite a few notches.

We love: Arjun’s circular hand moves (inset) to the bagpipe background music. The dance step of the year, so far.

Whistle baja: Heropanti

The film’s a hit and so are Tiger Shroff’s moves from this catchy number from his debut. Tiger the hotbod, newcomer Kriti Sanon’s winner smile and the easy-to-ape dance steps make Whistle baja the current fave of DJs and dancers alike.

We love: The simultaneous hand-on-shirt lapel, rapid-sideways-movement-of-the-feet step (inset) to the tune of the digitised version of the whistle from Hero, the film that made Tiger’s dad Jackie a star.

Fugly: fugly

The title track of the June 13 release would have been pedestrian if not for the presence of Salman Khan and Fugly producer Akshay Kumar. Salman — who reportedly shot the number in just half an hour — is his usual cool self, with Akki, in a beard, matching him (impromptu) step for step.

We love: The thigh-to-stomach-to-chest-to-head move (inset). A step we are quite sure Salman thought up on the spot!
