The first thing you notice after entering the ground-floor cafe inside Metropole Hotel is the ceiling-to-floor collage featuring musical greats — Metallica, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, The Doors, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson and Bob Marley. Turn left, and a huge poster of Marilyn Monroe greets you to the puff-sip-dine den.
Don’t be surprised when the food arrives in dustpans, scoopers and roti-grills! “Well, we have tried to add drama to the service by incorporating elements from everyday household chores,” explained Arvind Bhatnagar, executive director, Shenaz Hotels, that is managing the F&B of the hotel (and the group behind Shisha, Ivory and Bistro by the Park). Move to the menu and there’s bruschetta, nachos, hamburger, pizza and pasta.

If some hubbly-bubbly makes you happy, puff away on Double Apple, Vanilla, Mint, Paan Rasna, Kiwi, Orange, Grapes, Bubble Gum, Pineapple and Cola flavours. t2 liked the Grape and Mint combo and the Vanilla Rasna flavours. The cafe also serves refreshers such as Swiss Chocolate Shake and Blush on Ice. t2 loved the masala version of Virgin Mojito, it’s different!
So walk in, find yourself a comfy corner in the low-seating area, have a hookah in hand and call for some sip-and-bite over an adda with friends or family.
