Even when she was a shy 17-year-old model awaiting her turn behind the makeshift stage on the Tollygunge Club greens, all eyes were on her. Just because of the way she looked — BEAUTIFUL. Just like she does today, when she struts her stuff alongside every Khan and Kumar on celluloid. From the raw sexuality in Boom to the gentle beauty in Humko Deewana Kar Gaye to the drop-dead gorgeousness in Namastey London, Katrina has been a real stunner. And unlike many other heroines who look a shadow of themselves off screen (and that’s just putting it politely), Katrina is even more beautiful face-to-face, with minimum make-up. Let’s just say she’s as close to perfection as we can get.
Looks best in: Real life. Serious.
Compliment no. 1: “She is one of the most good-looking girls in the industry today” — Akshay Kumar
Michelangelo would have been happy had he sculpted Hrithik Roshan. Even if you take out that awesome body, Duggu can kill you with his green-eyed gaze. Never has a man on the Indian screen looked better than Hrithik did as Mr A in Dhoom:2. And it was not just about flaunting body beautiful (which, though we must admit, did help). How arresting and attractive he could look in flowing robes was proved by Jodhaa-Akbar. Bollywood’s Greek god, take a bow.
Looked best in: Dhoom:2.
Compliment no. 1: “He’s a good-looking boy with a great body. The loosening up that happened with Dhoom:2 is what I found sexy” — Bipasha Basu

With or without the towel, in blue or in any other shade, as Raj or by any other name, Ranbir is a good-looking guy. Getting his grandfather’s eyes and his father’s baby face helps. He is male without being macho. It’s a middle-of-the-road masculinity, both tough and soft. He has to guard against that slightly-stupid grin but this bindaas boy is very much today’s heart-throb. Chilled-out and charming, he looks smashing in Deepika’s arms. Many girls hope, not for long.
Looks best in: Bachna Ae Haseeno promos.
Compliment no. 1: “He is very good looking” — Deepika Padukone

She was a Stunner with a capital S on screen in Om Shanti Om. Up close, she’s a STUNNER, in ‘all-cap’. That lopsided smile with the corner of the right lip raised just a bit more than the left one. Those lovely eyes that script an ode to innocence. No wonder Farah Khan made Deepika a 1970s’ beauty and a gum-chewing tomboy of today. And she looked great as both. If seeing her bathed in the Sydney sun with Ranbir for company makes you go ‘wow’, seated across the table the other day, all we could mutter was… mashallah.
Looks best in: Real life.
Compliment no. 1: “Deepika is so beautiful she can fit into any costume of any period” — Farah Khan

John is beautiful. Period. Few men can make almost every woman — from six to 60 — gape. But that is all in a day’s work for the 35-year-old former model-turned-actor. John’s to-die-for body is complemented by a handsome face and an honest charm. Add to that a killer smile and his new short hairstyle and John is edible! He is looking better than ever before — from No Smoking to Goal and now Aashayein. Plus, he is one half of Bollywood’s hottest pair, with Bipasha Basu for company. If only he could also act!
Looked best in: Dhoom.
Compliment no. 1: “I think John is really hot” — Bipasha Basu

The beautiful boy of Bollywood. The female population in any hall screening Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na could be divided into four segments: little girls who were hoping he would remain a college student till they got there; teenagers who had found their dream man; young mothers who hoped their son would grow up to be like him; young grandmothers who wanted to adopt him. A rare mix of boy-next-door looks and a lover’s intensity, the latest Khan on the block is more than just a chip off the avuncular block. And the real clincher lies in the intelligence that shines through those eyes. Pappu can think, saala!
Looked best in: The scene in Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na when he is dancing at the party with Manjari but watching Genelia with her beau. Intensity ho to aisa…
Compliment no. 1: “He certainly looks much better than I did when I started out” — Aamir Khan

Expressive eyes that say a thousand words. Features that are not picture perfect but curiously arresting. A million-watt smile. She may be consistently topping every ‘worst dressed’ poll around, but boy is she beautiful! From the music videos to Bhalo Theko (yes, that was her debut film) just when people were wondering ‘Who’s that girl?’ she dazzled us all with her Lolita act in Parineeta. She was fresh-as-a-daisy as Jahnvi in Lage Raho Munnabhai, a standout despite her no-makeup look in Salaam-e-Ishq, and a showstealer from a wheelchair in Guru. So what if she looked older than Shahid in Kismat Konnection? We like you any which way, Vidya.(Except in those atrocious clothes of Heyy Babyy!) Plus, she is smart.
Looked best in: Parineeta
Compliment no. 1: “She is the face to watch out for” — Amitabh Bachchan

There was Ash and there was Kats but many stopped in their tracks when Raima Sen breezed into the IIFA 2008 awards night in a flowing white sheer gown, hair piled on top. Grace, poise and confidence — she had them all. Just like grandmom Suchitra Sen. Twenty-six going on 27, she’s sensuous, warm and carefree. Just like mom Moon Moon.
Her porcelain skin (“it’s in my genes”, she says) and doe eyes dimmed Ash’s brilliance in Chokher Bali. Her bare back singed the screen as she lolled in bed beside Ash’s hubby-to-be in Antarmahal.
She was charming in The Bong Connection and subtly sexy in Anuranan. She made the jhola-kurti-bindi look chic in Khela.
If Bips is Bollywood’s best hot bod from Bengal, Raima is surely the most beautiful face.
Looked best in: Khela
Compliment no. 1: “My grandmom (Suchitra Sen) said I look like her.”

He makes bad look oh-so-good. TFH (Tall, fair and handsome, sillies!) Neil Nitin Mukesh may well turn out to be Bollywood’s dark horse. He was criminally cool in his debut film Johnny Gaddaar. Chiselled features, piercing hazel-grey eyes and a killer smile offset an innate boyish charm. The strapping 26-year-old is already being touted as the next big thing, thanks to the films with Madhur Bhandarkar and Yash Raj in his kitty. What’s more, he has even inherited some vocal genes from grandfather Mukesh and dad Nitin Mukesh. Very handsome and very eligible, eh?
Looked best in: The scene in Johnny Gaddaar where he breaks into an impromptu jig with the intro to Doob ja playing in the background. Super sexy. Super cool.
Compliment no. 1: “Neil impressed me in Johnny Gaddaar with his looks and his performance” — Madhur Bhandarkar
