Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor at the music release of Bodyguard

Perhaps taking a cue from friend Aamir, Salman Khan is going all innovative to promote his forthcoming biggie, Bodyguard. If Aamir had created a barber-ic buzz during Ghajini, Salman is taking the title of his next film quite literally.

Salman plays Kareena Kapoor’s character Divya’s bodyguard in the film. Since her life is perennially under threat in the movie, directed by Siddique, his job is to save her and protect her.

Now the makers are taking the concept of Bodyguard to every town and city that Salman and Kareena are travelling to to promote their film. “You can be their bodyguard” for a day in your city and protect them through the day. Says a source in Bodyguard’s marketing team: “The idea is to make people live the life of a bodyguard, how he or she gets to protect a big Bollywood celebrity. The selected person will be like a shadow of Salman or Kareena in each city they go to and will get a touch and feel of the glamour world. For a lay person this would be a great opportunity to be with Salman or Kareena the whole day.”

Producer Atul Agnihotri confirms: “We plan to travel to many cities. Both Salman and Kareena individually will be travelling and promoting the film. In every city they will have a local bodyguard who will be their ‘personal bodyguard’ for the day.”
