Rajkumar Hirani directing R. Madhavan in 3 Idiots

The first shooting schedule of Vinod Chopra Films’s next mega venture 3 Idiots commenced on August 26 in Mumbai. The first scene started in an aircraft with R. Madhavan. The next 20-day schedule will be in Ladakh with lead pair Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

3 Idiots is, of course, the third film from Rajkumar Hirani who made the two Munnabhai films. It is an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s first book Five Point Someone. It is also the first film to feature Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor together. The Mani Ratnam project Lajja, with the two of them, got shelved. 3 Idiots also features R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Boman Irani in pivotal roles.

Director Hirani who is quite thrilled with the project says: “We are literally off to a flying start. It was amazing to shoot inside a real aircraft. We are really excited and raring to go.”

3 Idiots is being produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and written by Hirani and Abhijat Joshi. The lyrics are by Swanand Kirkire and music is being composed by Shantanu Moitra.
