Here a Social, there a Social, everywhere a.... Yes, the Tamasha cafe is finally coming to Calcutta! And with a
hat-trick hurrah.

Riyaaz Amlani, the boss of Social, told t2onSunday: “Calcutta is a very exciting market for us in 2017. It is the third-largest food market in India, in terms of volume. This year, we are opening three Social cafes in Calcutta.”

Social, tagged as the “cafe of the future”, is best known for its “collaborative workspace” and “innovatively served comfort food”. At present, there are 15 Social outlets in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Gurgaon.

What about any of the other brands from his stable, we asked the CEO and MD of Impresario Group. “The group will reprise Smoke House Deli [which closes its doors at Quest on January 31] and relaunch it not in a franchise but company-owned format. We also have plans to bring a new high-end brand to Calcutta,” revealed Riyaaz.

Why so much in one year? “What’s worth doing is worth overdoing!” grinned the president of the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), who says he is “finally inspired by the awesomeness of Calcutta”!

So, get set to be a Social-ite!
