What: Timberlake Wertenbaker’s Winter Hill, directed by Ananda Lal

Expect: An all-women cast staging British dramatist Timberlake Wertenbaker’s Winter Hill, to be presented in collaboration with ICCR and Jadavpur University Department of English (JUDE). Winter Hill is Prof Ananda Lal’s last directorial venture for JUDE, for whom he has directed plays since 1993. He has recently retired. 

The play is being staged with permission from Wertenbaker, who wrote Winter Hill in 2017 at the centre of which is a young woman wanting to find out what really happened some years ago at a reading-group session that went horribly wrong. The play turns the spotlight on economic, social and political issues that Britain is faced with but which are also relevant to India.
