The silly season is knocking at our doors and it’s time to bring on the shine and shimmer in your wardrobe as you get set to put on your party shoes! Comfortable fabric sheathed with sequins for a heavy dose of bling — that’s designer Jyotee Khaitan’s offering for the winter party season. Draped silhouettes, high slits and drama in the sleeves add to the glam quotient of the collection. The designer shows us how to do “balanced bling” this party season with her twin lines — New Age Concept Sari and Drape Series. For a The Telegraph shoot, actress Koushani Mukherjee channels the balanced bling look with five looks from Jyotee’s collection, from trendy to classic and classy to sassy!

This dark blue satin sari-gown is perfect for a cocktail do, with a dreamy and romantic glam look. The gown is pleated around the waist. The sequinned pallu with silver tassels made out of pipes and beads lend a touch of shimmer and shine to the outfit. “This new-age sari is perfect for those who want to ace a luxe, chic and trendy look. The illumination of the pallu and the satin draped blouse is arranged to attain the perfect balance of form,” said Jyotee. “This gown is also a great option for a night party, it is so glamorous!” said Koushani.

This “concept sari” is an ideal pick if you want to go glam at a winter wedding. The one-piece sari in a metallic silver tone with a light satin drape on the lower part and a net pallu embroidered with silver sequinned tassels is smart and chic. “The Jyotee Khaitan ‘concept sari’ is back again and has become the ‘big thing’ this season and is here to stay! This occasionwear concept sari can be worn to a Christmas cocktail party as well,” said Jyotee. “This draped sari is apt for a Sangeet party,” said Koushani.

Apart from my shoots I am also very experimental when it comes to fashion and style. I love sporting different looks rather than sticking to a signature style. Though I have tried such looks before, yet trying it for this shoot was an amazing experience. Bling catches anyone’s attention and is apt for the party season ahead. My party wardrobe definitely has a blingy dress and gown. As for accessories to go with it, I will pair a stylish boot or a pair of heels. This year for Christmas and New Year’s I have too many options in blingy dresses that I shopped from abroad, so I am planning to wear them

This black-and-gold lightweight, asymmetrical jacket outfit cuts a classic frame as a partywear. The jacket is embellished with sequins and crystals and is attached to the upper half of the outfit while the lower half with a light satin drape is designed with a stylish slit in the front. “This narrow and lightweight outfit represents lightness coming into luxury. It offers luxury and comfort in great style,” said Jyotee. “This one is the best I think. Black is my fave and it suits all in general so it’s good for any kind of party,” said Koushani.

This dark wine outfit made of wrinkled crepe with stylish drapes and pleats on the lower part and an elaborate sequinned sleeve on one side adding a touch of bling, could well be your New Year’s Eve OTTN! “This outfit from our Drape Series is a perfect evening-wear with its chic and modern design appeal. The draping and pleating is conceptualised in a contemporary manner,” said Jyotee. “The Indo-western style of this outfit is very attractive,” said Koushani.
