On screen, the father was once known as the angry young man. Off screen, it’s a name often used for the son. But now we are told that Abhishek Bachchan is doing all that he can to shrug off the sobriquet. Baby AB has been pooh-poohing reports that he recently asked immigration officials in England if he should drop his pants for investigation. Lately in the news for punching a scribe, Bachchan Junior, now touring Europe on shooting assignments, is all praise for the airport officials. “They are merely doing their job and we must be cooperative and patient,” says Abhishek. Like the journalists who were trying to get a story?

Making waves

The intoxicating jodi of Rakesh and Prajna — noted radio jockeys of Calcutta — have decided to make a new move. They have now shifted from Red FM 93.5 to Big FM 92.7. “I have been working with Rakesh for the past 10 years and am really glad to be a part of this new venture,” says Prajna. Her partner, Rakesh, is equally enthusiastic about it. “I am sure there will be lots of new avenues to explore,” he says. With five more FM companies scheduled for launch in the city in the next six months, the jodi’s new venture is making waves. And that, as our own Freddie Mercury sang some two decades ago, is what they mean by radio ga-ga.

Cycle of life

You can’t accuse Sushma Reddy of being close minded. The model-turned-actress’s take on rebirth is a case in point. Reddy is not choosy about her would-be avatar — she is even giving a choice to those who take the final decision on these matters. Reddy says she would like to be re-born as either the rotund Winston Churchill, or as sexy Angelina Jolie. But rebirth, she cautions, is connected to one’s deeds. “Karma is dharma so you should always be good to people,” gushes the glam diva. Sushma had better take care — a bit more of that, and she may just be reborn as Mother Teresa.
