If you believe that milkshakes are the superior dessert and if your heart flutters at the thought of drinking a deliciously cold slurpie, then you’re in for a treat!

t2 explores some of the great shakes in the city...

The Cafe Walnut @ Q33
Formerly called Coffee Paradise, this shake will keep you busy as you drink and eat your way down to the bottom! This yum slurpie doesn’t just have coffee extracts but also a monstrous mash-up of walnut brownies. A choco and coffee lover’s dream team between shopping rounds at Quest mall.
Pocket pinch: Rs 161
(all inclusive)
Sitaphal Shake @ The Yellow Straw
If you want to get the most out of a seasonal fruit, then head to this healthy hole at 4 RN Mukherjee Road. Sitaphal or custard apple is manually deseeded and 250g of the fruit pulp goes in with vanilla ice cream and ice to make this nutritious sip.
Pocket pinch: Rs 80 for 200ml
Gems Bubblegum Shake @ Cafe 4/1
Cornflakes, Gems, bubblegum syrup and tons of vanilla ice cream make this bottle a child’s dream. A piece of rope ties together two crisp strawberry wafers (you can ask for chocolate!). The bang of bubblegum and the crunch of chocolate-y Gems add a different flavour and texture. We’re guessing your little one will want to come back for more to this Camac Street veg cafe.
Pocket pinch: Rs 218 (all inclusive)
Classic Tiramisu @ Fabbrica Della Pizza
A Tiramisu shake, really? YES. This Allenby Road restaurant has packed all the goodness of this super popular, coffee-flavoured Italian dessert into a cold shake! Mascarpone cheese makes it thick while the single shot of espresso cuts through all the creaminess just right. Blended together with vanilla ice cream and milk, it is garnished with whipped cream and sprinkles of cocoa powder and comes to you with a Ladyfinger biscuit (the Italians call it Savoiardi). #Yum
Pocket pinch: Rs 327 (all inclusive)
Mixed Berries Shake @ Piccadilly Square
The USP of this drink is that it is one of the few without vanilla ice cream and is still delicious! YAY. Another win for the shake freaks is that along with seasonal berries, a scoop each of strawberry and blueberry sorbetto, made in-house, is added to the blend. Try it at the Lansdowne and Dalhousie cafe outlets. #WeLoved
Pocket pinch: Rs 159 (all inclusive)
Strawberry Shake @ Wise Owl
How can you ignore the classic strawberry shake that would come to the rescue of your hunger pangs as a child? This fresh, frothy milkshake at the Hindusthan Park cafe won’t just send you into #throwback mode... the generous portions of strawberry ice cream will leave you wanting more!
Pocket pinch: Rs 142 (all inclusive)
After 8 Shake @ Blue Mug
Mint syrup + After Eight chocolate + scoops of chocolate ice cream go into stirring up this tall glass garnished with mint leaves and whipped cream. Be sure to try this out if you like the coolness of mint cutting through your chocolate at this Jodhpur Park hangout.
Pocket pinch: Rs 212 (all inclusive)
Dark Chocolate and Butterscotch Shake @ Afra Tafri
A light and frothy shake made up of two flavours that go insanely well together — dark chocolate and butterscotch! The intense and bitter dark chocolate (both in liquid and slab form) becomes milder as the sweetness from the butterscotch takes over. You’ll wish your glass never ran out at this Camac Street brew pub!
Pocket pinch: Rs 230 (all inclusive)
