When the boss of Bolly remix is in the house, you know it’s going to be a lit night! DJ Aqeel was in a fun mood as he posed for the t2 camera at Afra Tafri on December 2. The man in charge of the console made it a smashing night not only with his playlist but also his praise. “Calcutta has been amazing whenever I have come here and the amount of energy people show while partying is great,” said the celebrity DJ at the hotspot on Camac Street.
Party peeps made a beeline to click selfies with the “icon”!
If Aqeel is in town, there is no missing Rima Guha Thakurta at his gig. “When it comes to the best Bolly mash-ups and remixes, it has to be Aqeel! The way he keeps the crowd pumped up is fab,” said the model.
A packed dance floor lived up to the name of the pub — afra tafri means madness, mayhem and chaos in Hindi, the words originally derived from Urdu. Some of the tracks danced to were Laila main Laila, Suit suit, Disco 82 and Bin tere sanam.
A bardot top teamed with shoulder dusters, red nails and smoky eyes — Anupama Jaiswal was party-ready.
Suede skirt with suspenders, collared tube top and fringe boots — Prerna Sapra had her fashion game strong. “I wanted to keep the look cool and quirky, and the boots mark the arrival of winter,” she said.
“Micah and Ruben jamming with the DJs... live music made the tempo of the party go a notch higher!” said Moutrisha Sarkar, an entrepreneur.
