The first decision that changed my life completely was when I returned to India six years ago from Australia, where I lived for eight years. I was doing a Masters course in Applied Information Technology and working part time in the fitness industry. A friend suggested that I pursue modelling in India since there was a need for good models then in the country. While studying and working, I was also interviewing with companies in Australia for a job, but somewhere along the line I gave into a gut instinct to come back to India. Now six years later I can see who I have become because of that one step. I consider the fact that I have just finished shooting for a role in the film Don 2, and I know it was a step well chosen.
In 2008, I had my second turning point when I shot for a Cadbury Eclairs commercial. It was one of my first commercials and it was therefore almost a head-banging proposition for me. The intricacies to shooting the ad were mindboggling. But when I saw the final outcome four months later, I knew I had it in me to be an actor. After that I began to pursue a career in films.
And it is with regard to my nascent film career that I had my third turning point. However this time, it was a negative occurrence that brought out the best in me. A year back around February I had a few film roles in the pipeline. And within a span of a week all of them crashed. The turning point for me lay in losing all of those projects at a go, standing up tall and still persevering in my quest to become an actor.
