A nude lipstick is good for summer. It is that natural shade that highlights your lips without making it look extra in any way. As it should be when the mercury is rising, and you don’t need anything else in excess!
A nude lipstick also helps if you want to just highlight your eyes.
But choosing the right nude lipstick for the Indian skin requires some knowledge.
For dark or dusky skin tones: Women with darker skin tones find it difficult to find the perfect “natural” colour for them as their complexions have undertones that can make the lips look grey or washed out. If you are a nut-brown maid, go for brown, or chocolate, but avoid shades that are lighter than your skin colour. These are the shades that make your lips look grey.
For wheatish/olive skin: For women who have tan to olive skin tones, which are generally called “wheatish” in India, nudes with peach or orange undertones are right, say experts.
For lighter skin: Women who have light skin should choose nudes with pink undertones. These will brighten up the skin further. But one should be careful that the nude isn’t too pale. It blanks the face out.
A general tip for choosing the right shade: try the lipstick on your finger tip. Its skin tone is closer to your lip’s than the skin tone of the inside of your wrist.
