Sun and sand, and some yummy coastal bites. That’s the perfect beach vacay for most of us. And if you’re craving one, there’s a place right here in the city where you can head to for a dose of vitamin ‘sea’.
SurFire —The Coastal Cafe offers a slice of coastal India, primarily Goa, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, with dishes such as Appam and Ishtew, Pork Vindaloo and Ghee Roast.
“I ran out of ideas while coming up with the name and that’s when ‘surf’ and ‘fire’ came up. While ‘surf’ relates to the sea, ‘fire’ relates to spice and when combined it becomes ‘SurFire’, which when pronounced sounds like ‘sarfirey’ meaning ‘crazy’,” said founder Ishani Priyadarshini.
