The Wall — the Oriental eatery from the Savourites group — is hosting a Nyonya festival that brings to the table flavours from regions such as Southern Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Inspired by chef Susanta Sengupta’s recent visit to South East Asia, these dishes are spread across all sections of the menu, from starters to wholesome mains and desserts.

Udang Mentega: A Penang special, this has jumbo prawns fried in oodles of butter along with some dessicated coconut, curry leaves, onions and chillies. You’ll love the buttery bite. Rs 550-plus

“The Nyonya cuisine was born once Chinese traders came in and settled in these regions and hence there was a fusion of Chinese food with the local food. The meals in this region are simple and rustic, but full of flavour, which is exactly what I wanted to bring to our guests at The Wall,” said Sengupta, director and executive chef.

t2 had a table full of yum delights from the festival, and here’s getting you our faves.
