As far as possible, I try and keep my Saturdays and Sundays free. After a hectic week of work, the weekend is a time meant for family and friends. That said however, Saturday morning is spent making payments to my karigars. But after that, I devote the rest of the day to my son, Vignesh and my husband, Partho.
Almost every Saturday evening, I have a date ? with my three-and-a-half year old son that is. And our favourite place to hang out is the play centre at Forum. All that playing builds up a good appetite, which we promptly satisfy at the nearby food court, Burp! The later hours of the evening are spent in the company of close friends. We have a quiet dinner, a good chat, and then head to our favourite nightclub, Shisha to dance the night away.
While we usually have a pretty late night on Saturday, sometimes trooping in as late as four in the morning, Sunday mornings aren’t really spent sleeping it off. And that’s thanks to Vignesh who insists we’re up and about like him. Breakfast is always luchi- aludom while Sunday lunch, which is at my in-laws’ house, is a feast with bhaat, mutton, chutney, doi, bonde and more.
Sunday evenings are always at the movies and Inox at Forum is where we usually head for our diet of filmi masala. My most recent watches were Rang De Basanti and 15, Park Avenue, and all I did while watching them was wish I’d been able to design the costumes.
