Saturdays and Sundays are the days when I try not to involve myself in the office and to do the things, which bring me inner joy. Be it a Sunday or a Monday, it is my routine to get up at 6.30am everyday. So on weekends, the first thing I do is water my plants. Though I don’t have a huge garden, there are about 65 plants in my house, and I love to take care of these.
I also manage to steal some time out to indulge in a number of activities. You’ll find me visiting art exhibitions in town, and at home, I love to paint whenever I’m in the mood. I have always been interested in music, so now a teacher comes to my house to teach me Hindustani classical singing on weekends. And I’m enjoying it to the core.
Though I usually don’t go out for dinner, Sunday lunches are something I look forward to. One of my favourite haunts is United Coffee House in Connaught Place. This place still retains an old world charm. But if I’m not going out, I prefer to cook at home and trust me, I’m not bad. My business partner Rahul Jain often joins my wife and me for lunch. He is very particular about the kind of food he eats. So thanks to him, I’ve learned to make very good paranthas, soups and veggies. Now although I cook very simple food like soups and boiled vegetables, it’s very healthy and tastes good too.
