Earlier my weekends used to be a roller-coaster of parties and get-togethers with friends. But ever since I married my husband Shaun, things have really changed. He?s not much of a night-clubber, preferring to make the most of the daylight hours. And now I find I actually prefer that too. So our Saturday evenings are usually spent watching a movie and having a quiet dinner at some restaurant or the other. I?m pretty easy when it comes to food, so I always let Shaun decide. Most of the time, we hit a restaurant on Park Street or La Cucina at the Hyatt. After dinner, we generally catch up with friends over a beer or two. But we?re always back home by 11.30 pm.
Sunday is the best day of the week really! Since Shaun works from six in the morning to 11 at night throughout the week, Sundays are special as we can spend the entire day together. We usually get up pretty early and pore over the newspapers together even as we dig into a hearty breakfast, which Shaun always whips up. If a good film is playing in the theatres, we almost always head to Forum and catch the morning show. However, if there?s nothing interesting playing, Shaun and I usually head to Jyoti Vihar on Harrington Street for a good South-Indian brunch.
Sunday lunch is also usually at some restaurant we fancy. We love spending our Sunday evenings visiting art and crafts exhibitions and browsing for interesting pieces. Shaun is very fond of Indian handicrafts. Alternatively, we also enjoy having a good swim or going for long walks. Dinner at times, is at home ? and pizza is normally on the menu ? or again outside in a restaurant, depending on the mood.
