If there’s one place that I can’t have enough of, it’s Cape Town. As it happens, my wife is from Cape Town and I have been visiting this beautiful city for the last 11 years. The beaches there are the best in the world and the city is charming in its own quiet way. One thing that I don’t miss when I’m in Cape Town is my Sunday morning prayer. The Indian community there is a close-knit one and they organise prayer sessions at temples on Sunday mornings, which is a once-in-a-lifetime. Another great attraction that binds me with the place is a chance to visit Cape Point, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. It’s one of the most beautiful places on Earth. In India, my favourite holiday destination is Udaipur, but I also never miss a chance to travel to the Himalayas. There are some people who love either the sea or the mountain. But I don’t have any such fixation, although, even if I am travelling in the Himalayas, I prefer to remain close to a water source — a river or stream — as it has a soothing effect on my soul.
