Just last month I visited New York and ended up having a total blast. Prior to that I’d gone to Houston to attend the Banga Sammelan there. After the festivities, we decided to visit New Jersey and New York. Now I’ve been to the Big Apple before, but this time around, we managed to pack in a whole lot of sightseeing and fun into our five days there.

We hopped onto one of those famed double-decker tourist buses and soaked in all the sights during the day and even the night. By night, Brooklyn Bridge and the New York skyline looks fabulous, although it was a bit depressing just seeing a vacant piece of sky where the Twin Towers once stood.

We did a little bit of everything in New York — from dancing at a nightclub and eating out at an Italian restaurant to visiting Lady Liberty and Rockerfeller Cenre. I also went a bit crazy shopping at Macy’s and bought a load of shoes, bags and jewellery. The only thing I couldn’t get to do was catch a Broadway show, as all the tickets had sold out.
