“We wanted to open a space in the city for the young crowd. While studying in the UK, I was really fascinated by the quaint British pubs and hence we have tried to keep a similar vibe. Even the music, for most part of the day, will be lounge, which does not hinder communication,” said owner Aannya Bubna. The Door 6 is the Xaverian’s first venture into F&B after fashion retail.

The Door 6 stays true to its name with this massive old world-style door with detailing (picture left). Upon entering, one is greeted by the main bar, with high chairs and a cosy couch. The walls are done up with frames of London, lending it a British pub feel.
The Dragon Boat has more than a hint of Oriental flavours in the form of lychee juice, chia seeds, dragon fruit and whisky. Served in a wooden boat with a tiny flame at the end, you’d be tempted to #Instagram this yummy cocktail! Rs 375-plus
After the main bar area comes the minibar. The furniture can be easily removed and the wooden floor doubles as a dance floor for a private party. It also houses a DJ console.
Thai Green Curry with Steamed Rice is served in coconut-shaped bowls. “The dish has the right balance of the freshness of basil and the creaminess of the curry,” said chef Xavier Joy Pramanik, who has previously worked at Big Brewsky in Bangalore. Rs 350-plus for vegetarian curry, Rs 400-plus for non-vegetarian curry.
Sliced ginger, honey, lemon juice and whisky come together to create Penicillin. Served on a wooden box amidst vapours of dry ice, this one is quite a stunner on the table. “This cocktail is apt for the winter months as it gets warmth from the ginger slices as well as the honey,” said bar executive Joy Dev Paul, who has previously created concoctions at Cafe Zoe and Eddies Bistro in Mumbai. Rs 425-plus
On the mezzanine floor is this seating zone for around 30 people. This zone serves shisha, so sit back and take a puff. Underneath is a similar section, with the same seating capacity.
The third zone is a dining space that also has arrangements for a buffet for private parties. The walls here have frames of various doors!
