For the not-so mathematically inclined, which includes myself, today is the day, according to Robert Browning, when in 1376, the Pied Piper stepped out into the street and put his pipe to his lips and “out of the houses the rats came tumbling”. To commemorate the unfortunate day when the Piper not only rid Hamelin town of rats but also of all its children, today is remembered as Ratcatcher’s Day. Here’s a quick question: According to the poem, where were the children of Hamelin taken?
