Hues of Holi

Revellers got holi-fied at rangotsav, with t2

What’s Holi unless you dance your heart out with friends and family, covered in colours?
Covered in colours? Check. Pout? Check. Snapchat on? Check. These PYTs made sure to document their fun moments, thumkas added for the desi touch.
It was a grab-the-colour fight as revellers pounced to get their share of the good stuff.
Dressed in kurtas with turbans in place, husband-wife duo Shalini and Rajshekhar Srivastav welcomed Holi the desi way. “My husband and I decided to go completely ethnic today. We bought new kurtas too. I am taking lots and lots of pictures,” said Shalini.
There’s always that one person who becomes the victim and falls prey to others’ mischief. One friend makes sure there’s no escape and another smothers the helpless one with colours.
It was the first time that US-based Christina Belluardo (right) was in India, experiencing the madness that Holi is.
Thandai in one hand, mobile in the other and a marigold crown on his head — this guy’s Holi swag was spot on!
From Holi hits like Rang barse to current chartbusters like Despacito, DJ Jimmy made sure that the crowd kept grooving.
This group of friends wasn’t just colour-coordinated but also chose to wear similar kurtas. “We make it a point to celebrate Holi every year. This is our second time at Rangotsav and we are loving it,” said Aryan Gupta (third from right), a CA student.
No better way to have fun than to go piggyback on your friend’s shoulder!

It was all about rang, thandai, music and masti as people came in numbers with their friends and family to play Holi at Rangotsav, in association with t2, at Maple Lawn in PC Chandra Garden.

“Nearly 3,000 people have turned up this year. So this edition is bigger and better. We always cater to the family crowd and usually have only organic colours, flowers, Tomatina zone, rain dance... this time we introduced two new zones — mud and foam,” said Kashif Ahmed Reza, organiser, Rangotsav.

MUSIC, FRIENDS AND FUN AT COLORS, WITH T2

People soaked themselves in the Holi fervour at Colors, in association with t2, held at Gold Acres in PC Chandra Garden.
There was music, dance, art — all combined together under one roof. And of course, lots of gulal and thandai too. “We tried to make it as desi as possible,” said Sandeep Kajaria, organiser, Colors.

Snapshots...

Did he think he was going to win against the mechanical bull?

People went click-click when  celebrity guest Sapna Choudhary (below), of Bigg Boss 11 fame, danced to popular tracks.

It was the first time that this couple were celebrating Holi together. “Despite the heat and humidity, we managed to have our own crazy moments, which made this Holi the best one till date!” said Sreya Pal, a dental surgeon.
Throwing colour at an unsuspecting friend won’t get you in trouble... after all, bura na mano Holi hai!
Kritika Kapoor, who was celebrating the festival for the second time with her boyfriend, “didn’t really want” to go for the event but couldn’t say no to him and her friends. “I really like Holi but I don’t like attending the Holi events. But I am glad I did, because I ended up having a
lot of fun!” said the third-year BCom student of The Bhawanipur Education Society College.
DJs Felix (left) and Kunal Bose kept everyone on their feet with their mix of chart-toppers and Holi faves.
Dressed in white and throwing colours in the air... Neelam Jaiswal (second from right) spent the day with friends and family. “The crowd is so good and the music too. It’s a great experience for all of us,” said the homemaker.
These two PYTs placed themselves atop a barrel and danced like no one was watching!
Colour in hair, colour on faces... the revellers were unrecognisable but they didn’t seem to mind!
