Menu highlights: A brunch buffet to celebrate the Bengali New Year with dishes like Kosha Mangsho, Fish Fry, Mochar Chop, Shukto, Aloo and Begun Bhaja, and Chholar Dal. End the meal on a sweet note with some Rosogolla and Sandesh.
Organiser speak: “At the hotel we are really excited to welcome our guests for the event and engage with them, promote live videos on our Facebook page and give out prizes which will be announced at the venue. All these while one is enjoying the sumptuous brunch” said Suvo Mitra, general manager, Radisson Kolkata Ballygunge.

Where: Alfresco, The Lalit Great Eastern
When: April 15, 1pm-5pm and 7.30pm-11pm
Menu highlights: Usher in the Bengali New Year with a grand feast at Alfresco. The menu, curated by executive chef Madhumita Mohanta, is a celebration of culinary delights of Bengal. 
Cool down with welcome drinks like Aam Pora Shorbot or Beler Shorbot and soups like Bilaiti Begun Aar Tomator Rosa and Poda Rosun Aar Murgi Shirua. In the main course, vegetarians can relish dishes like Chhachi Peyaz Diye Kopir Bati Chochchori, Ledikeni Dalna, Labra and Paanch Mishali Torkari. For non-vegetarians, dishes like Kakra Bhuna, Thor Bora Diye Chingri Ghanto, Murgir Aam Kasundi, Rui Maachh Seem Beez Diye are the highlights of the menu. Saada Bhaat, Pulao Ratno and Luchi are the staples. Round off the feast with desserts like Kheer Kadam, Chhanar Jilipi, Mango Kalakand, Nolen Gurer Sandesh, Flavoured Rosogolla and Mango Saffron Baked Doi.
For those who don’t want to go for Bengali food, there’s Tangra Style Chilli Chicken, Feta Crumble Vegetable Greek Moussaka, Wok-tossed Oriental Vegetable in Light Garlic Sauce and Burnt Garlic Noodles.

Menu highlights: Bengali favourites like Bhaja Moong Dal, Basanti Pulao, Aloo Posto and Kosha Mangsho will be served as a part of the buffet. Live stations will dish out Calcutta classics like Tele Bhaja and Aloo Kabli. There is also a high-tea menu (4pm to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday) for some chai and adda. 
Meal for one: High tea Rs 599-plus. Friday lunch Rs 1,250, Saturday brunch Rs 1,500 and Sunday brunch Rs 1,850. Dinner buffet on all days are priced Rs 1,625 (all-inclusive)

Menu highlights: A Bengali fare that includes Mangsher Daak Bungalow, Chitol Maachher Mondo Kalia, Chingri Malai Kari, Aloo Diye Murgir Mangsho Jhal and Aloo Posto.
Meal for one: Rs 2,500-plus (inclusive of soft beverages), Rs 3,250-plus (inclusive of unlimited premium beverages of select brands)

Menu highlights: The special thali at Durbari has dishes like Kumro Phooler Bora, Khashir Steamer Curry and Kancha Lonka Murgi. Look out for dishes like Topshe Bhaja, Mochar Chop and Jhinge Aloo Posto at the Cafe Swiss brunch buffet. 
Meal for one: Rs 1499-plus (veg thali), Rs 1,699-plus (non-veg thali) at Durbari. Cafe Swiss buffet Rs 1,560-plus

What: Poila Baisakh Special Menu
Where: Seasonal Tastes, The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat 
When: April 14 (lunch and dinner) and April 15 (brunch and dinner)
Menu highlights: It’s the first Bengali New Year celebration at The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat and the menu has a mix of dishes from epar and opar Bangla. Some of these dishes are Smoked Hilsa, Daab Chingri, Chitol Maachh and Doi Murgi. The buffet will have a range of local fishes like Bhola Bhetki, Parshe, Tilapia, Topshe and Tangra. Plus, Ghee Bhat, Calcutta Biryani with Rezala or Chaap and Gobindhobhog Pulao. For sweets, try Chamcham, Sharbhaja, Mouchak and Mishti Doi.

Menu highlights: The Poila Baisakh buffet blends novelty and tradition from the Bengali kitchen. Make your own salad and tickle your taste buds with chaats from the live counter. Feast on traditional dishes like Chingri Malai Curry, Kancha Lonka Mangsho, Bhetki Maachher Paturi, Narkel Diye Chholar Dal, Aloo Dum and Chorchori along with Motorsutir Pulao. For desserts, try Tomato Chutney, Amsotto and Khejurer Chutney, Mishti Laal Doi, Baked Rosogolla and Baked Chocolate Cheesecake.
Meal for one: Rs 1,995 (all-inclusive, includes one pint of beer/one glass of wine)

second sitting: 2.45pm-4pm; dinner: 7.30pm-10.30pm
Menu highlights: There are many options — Mahabhoj Niramish Thala, Sadharon Thala (for vegetarians), Mahabhoj Amish Thala and a special Nabo Barsho Thala (for non-vegetarians). There’s also an a la carte Best of Kewpies Kitchen menu that has dishes like Channar Paturi, Daab Jhinge, Chitol Petir Jhal, Elish (boneless) Paturi, Mangsho Pulao, Daab Chingri, Tel Koi and Duck Vindaloo. The dessert menu includes Chaler and Rasmundir Payesh, Aam Kheer, Mishti Doi and Sandesh.
Meal for one: Mahabhoj Niramish Thala Rs 700, Sadharon Thala Rs 450, Mahabhoj Amish Thala Rs 1,050 and Nabo Barsho Thala Rs 850. Taxes extra

Expect: An exhibition dedicated to children and their mothers. With 54 stalls from across India, this exhibition will showcase clothing, accessories, sleepwear and toys for the kiddies and their mothers. Special attraction: A range of games and activities will be set up to add to the fun. Cakes and pastries will also be on sale.

What: Capella presents Alex M.O.R.P.H. in association with t2
Where: Capella, AltAir, 20th floor, EcoCentre,

When: April 14, 8pm onwards
Expect: A smashing night as DJ Alex M.O.R.P.H brings his tour to the city with his booming trance beats. To support the German artiste, local acts of DJ Jimmy, DJ Rahul and DJ Outlaw will open the scene for the night. Enjoy an a la carte menu as you dance the night away.

What: Calcutta Club Foundation Day partnered by The Telegraph

Where: Calcutta Club
Expect: Musical performances by Subhamita Banerjee, Lagnajita Chakraborty and Manomay Bhattacharya. Also expect team Haami to drop by. Snacks and tea will be served.
