Food-and-sip pairing for dinner at the Westin

The table was set as well as the mood with the guests tucking into a delectable fare that was divided into four courses and had two amuse-bouches.

Great ambience, good food and fine whisky to wash it down with. The Blue Label Dinner, co-hosted by Rahul Maini, the general manager of The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat and Brandon Toborg, reserve brand ambassador, Diageo, had all of that and more.

“What better place than The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat for some exclusive Johnnie Walker reserve of rare whiskies paired with fine dinner and amazing conversations! I always look forward to meeting like-minded people and I am lucky that I could host the dinner right after I took charge as the general manager. Looking forward to making more memories here,” said Maini.

“I had fun coming up with the cocktails. I wanted to use ingredients that are fresh, locally produced and easy to get… that’s something I always keep in mind. For the dinner, I wanted the sweetness of Gold (Johnnie Walker) to go with the appetiser and the richness of Blue (Johnnie Walker) with the main course because it was richer,” said Brandon Toborg.
