If you are one of those people who find it impossible to not step in into a sweet shop, there is hope. There are ways to
not drown is sugar, and then in guilt, not to say health problems.
It is not easy, because sugar releases a brain chemical called Dopamine, which makes us feel happy. More chocolate, more happy. But later, more problems.
Try a few simple ways to eat less sugar.
1 Stop taking sugar in your tea or coffee. It makes a huge difference.
2 Stop snacking on sweet biscuits or cookies.
3 Do not stop having sugar suddenly. Drop it slowly. There are ways of delivering bad news, not only to your body, but also to your soul.
4 Do not give it up altogether, unless your doctor prescribes so. Have it in moderation.
5 Have more protein. Increase intake of daal and fish.
6 Eat more meals, small ones, if you can. These will stop those hunger pangs when you feel like filling up the empty space inside you with anything.
7 Use jaggery instead of sugar. Jaggery tastes better sometimes.
8 Stop having aerated drinks. They just have empty calories. As empty as a purse before pay-day.
