Most of my cosmetics are from M.A.C and Bobbi Brown. I like to use base make-up by M.A.C. My usual look is just kaajal and lots of lipgloss. But when at work I have to wear make-up for 12 to 13 hours a day. I always prefer these reputed brands that not only keep my skin healthy but also don’t require frequent touch-ups. I also follow a cleansing, toning, moisturi-sing routine for which I use Clinique products. |
I am a 23-year-old woman with a lot of blemishes on the face. Whenever I use a concealer it ends up looking blotchy. Please tell me how to use the concealer and hide my blemishes properly.

Concealer can improve your skin’s appearance dramatically but only if it’s invisible. To conceal everything you do not want to show, apply concealer just to the blemish and other imperfections. Using a small pointed brush, dab a tiny amount of concealer onto the blemish. Then, gently blend away the edges using either a cotton bud or wipe any excess off your brush and use a dabbing or patting motion. Imagine that you are gently trying to press the concealer into the skin. Stick concealers are the best for concealing imperfections like blemishes, scars and redness because they are heavier and waxier than cream concealer — and they can double as a foundation too.
I have thin lips. How can I make them look fuller?
Sarah Joseph, Calcutta
You can create a new, fuller look by erasing your existing lip line with a concealer or foundation. Using a natural-based lip pencil, draw a line just on the top and a little inside the bottom of your lip. Don’t exaggerate the line. Now, fill in your lips completely with a lip liner. Next apply your lipstick. To finish, apply a light, shimmering lip gloss to the centre of your lips over your lipstick to create the illusion of perfectly balanced fuller lips.
