I am a 50-year-old housewife. Of late the skin around my face and neck has become lose and wrinkles are beginning to appear around my eyes and mouth. I use an anti-ageing cream and a night cream but that doesn't seem to help. Also, from being oily now suddenly my skin has gone dry and dull. What should I do?

In your 50s and beyond, skin takes longer to renew itself due to the slowing down of oestrogen production. The surface of the skin holds less moisture and oil gland activity slows down. So, your skin will feel naturally drier, and lines will become more noticable.
The key word in your 50s is moisture. An all-purpose moisturiser is not enough. Instead, layer several products. Hydrating serum, for instance, can be a fantastic way to boost the skins moisture levels.
Steer clear of too much powder, which tend to settle into wrinkles and exaggerate them.
Regular exercise and a sensible diet remain most effective beauty regime.
Protect your skin from further sun damage by using a daily sunscreen.

I am not a single-brand loyalist when it comes to cosmetics. My choice of brand depends on the product in question. While I swear by Maybelline's Kajal and mascara, M.A.C's coral red lipstick is an absolute favourite too. Again, I would go a Revlon compact but switch to M.A.C when it comes to foundation because it suits my skin better. I am a big fan of lip gloss. I prefer it over lip stick. When I am not shooting I merely dab on sun suncreen topped by a brush of compact and some lip gloss, usually a shade of pink. Body Shop's Satsuma Shimmer Lip Balm is my favourite. I am also a fan of products from Blossom Kochar's Aroma Magic. But above all I think it's the natuaral look that is still the best. My make up mantra is understated and natural.
