What: Escape — Spring Summer ’18 by Sneha Arora

Where: The Space at 9/2, 54 Chowringhee Road

When: On till February 16, 11am to 7pm

Expect: A breezy collection of shirts, dresses, pants, easy separates and stoles in fabrics such as cotton, linen, silks and organzas in soothing off-white, indigo, lilac, mellow yellow and powder beige. There will also be a couple of clutch bags and a small line of printed silk saris to choose from.

Designer speak: “It is an installation-cum-art showcase, so it is a different kind of experience that will debut my spring-summer line in the city,” said Sneha Arora.

What: BRC Masterchef 2018, Season 2, in association with t2

Where: The Bengal Rowing Club

When: February 18, 10am to noon

Expect: An exciting start to the day with contestants cooking up a storm  in the kitchen. There will be 12 teams with five members in each. Team members should be above the age of 18 and each team should comprise at least one member of BRC. Apart from cooking skills and flavour of the dishes, they will also be marked on presentation skills. The contestants will have to rustle up a main course dish, a dessert, and a “secret course” that they will have to cook without prior planning. Kirti Bhoutika, MasterChef India Season 5 winner, and Sharad Dewan, regional director, food production, The Park, Calcutta, will be the chief guests at the event.

Organiser speak: “I feel a recipe is only a theme that an intelligent cook can play with each time. We at BRC Masterchef Season 2 are looking at getting some interesting variations from our intelligent participants,” said Sunaina Bihani, member of creative committee, The Bengal Rowing Club.

Expect: Wine lovers to come together to enjoy what they love best — wine! In their second edition, The Stomp will have a brunch and wine carnival at the resort with activities such as grape-stomping, wine-tasting and a brunch. A selfie zone will add to the fun. Not much of a wine person? Then spend your time at the rock-climbing area or at the stalls for tattoo art, nail art, hair-braiding and more. A band and a DJ will add to the fun.
