Sleeping beauty may be a fairytale, but beauty sleep is not. Sleep has a deep relationship with our health, and health is the most fundamental key to beauty.

As we sleep our skin and body repair themselves. If you haven’t slept properly, you may look like you didn’t clean up since last year’s Halloween party.

Lack of sleep can lead not only to headache, acidity and bad mood, it also tells on your skin. Directly. Skin looks dull. Some feel immediate and intense dryness.

Some feel restlessness, not to mention poor energy and a tendency towards shut-eye throughout the day.

Lack of sleep can lead to lower blood pressure, which causes poor blood circulation and puffiness and bloating . You may look larger than life, which is not always welcome. On the other hand, good sleep promotes good blood circulation and you wake up with a glow.

Sustained sleep deprivation may lead to the appearance of fine lines and pigmentation. This is because a night of little sleep releases the stress hormone cortisol, which breaks down collagen, the main structural protein found in skin.

Lack of sleep gives your eyes dark circles.

Little sleep gives you bad hair as it gets little food.

Lack of sleep can make the corners of your mouth droop, which gives you a sad look, the very opposite of a Smiley.

♦ If you sleep well, night products you use on your skin work better.

So don’t whatsapp or Instagram. Get 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night. It’s a must!
