Black lounge in Aauris hotel on Robinson Street is being reborn as MoJo, an all-day lounge bar with no carry-over from its earlier avatar in terms of look. The miniature aircraft hanging from the ceiling have made way for warm lights; the decor is all wood, lending it a cosy feel. “MoJo stands for magic or charm. We plan to cast that on the people who love to enjoy our fusion food and cocktails. The M and J in the name are the initials of my children,” said Tejinder Singh Sahni, MD & CEO of Aauris hotel. Spread over 2,000sq ft, this 65-cover has seating for big and small groups. “We switched to an all-day lounge bar format in order to cater to a wider age group,” he added.

The black-red decor of the bar is gone. Instead you have a well-lit bar with a mirror ceiling and yellow lights.

The menu focuses on wholesome platters. We tried Shish Taouk, which has chunky chicken pieces  cooked the Lebanese way and served on pita bread. Two types of hummus, harissa dip, piri-piri fries and house salad are served inside pita pockets.

Love eggs and pizza? The Egg Sunny Side Up has both. This pizza comes with four poached eggs as toppings along with veggies and caramelised onion rings. Prick the yolk with a fork and then bite into the slice.

Looking for a cocktail with the right kick? Sip on Tropical Island, a whisky-based tipple with orange and lime juice and slit red chillies, while you puff on your fave hookah.

The Chinese Bao stuffed with Dragon Chicken is soft and the sweetness of the bao is balanced by the spicy chicken chunks. If you like it hot, dip it into a super hot house special sauce.

The Frozen Kiwi and Cucumber Margarita makes summer feel cool. Blended with  tequila,
triple sec, cucumber juice, ice and kiwi crush, this one has a light sweet taste and serves as a palate cleanser too.

Lemongrass and Coriander Dumpling is the right bite with your tipple. We loved the freshness of the lemongrass and the hint of coriander in the chicken. It’s served in a shot glass, so you can just pop one in your mouth.
