Booming beats, a packed dance floor and smiling faces summed up Celebrating 15 years of Shisha in association with t2 on May 18. After the crazy night with DJ Anish Sood and Rohit Baker, Shisha BSE was back with guest DJ Alessandro Martello from music group Marnik. He got the revellers glued to the dance floor with top numbers like Lose Yourself, Mi Gente, New Rules, Bad and Havana. Snapshots...
WHAT THEY LOVED
“DJ Marnik was too good. I loved it when he played I Got You. I would definitely attend his performance the next time he comes,” said Samriddhi Sharma, a student.
Rusha Ghosh was on a night out with her gang. “Shisha BSE is my second home. The vibe here is always the best and the music was just too good,” said Rusha, who is a model.
“This is my fourth time in Calcutta and I am always excited to play for the crowd because each performance is like the first time. I love their energy and their love,” said Alessandro Martello of Marnik
MOVERS & SHAKERS
There was no stopping Akanksha Singh (left) and Rishleen from grinding on the dance floor. “We were dancing like that because the music was so good. I enjoyed dancing to the tunes of Mi Gente,” said Akanksha, who is an event manager.
Guess which song got Akanksha groovy? Camila Cabello’s Havana. “It is always a good experience at Shisha BSE and I danced a lot, especially when Havana was played,” said the student from NIFT.
STYLE CHECK
Stripes + distressed denims + metallic heels = a killer combo! Jayshree Roy had her fashion game strong. “I like comfortable clothes which help me move freely. I love wearing crop tops because you can pair them with anything. I would describe my look as casual yet party and fun,” said the student of iLead.
Divyashree Agarwal went for a formal look with her blue summer dress teamed with a white blazer and pop fuchsia heels. “It was supposed to be a quick beer stop for me and my friend. We had no idea that it was a DJ night and the music was so good that we ended up staying for a longer time,” said the owner of Terminal 1, a cafe.
MOOD
Booze — from beer to LIIT — flowed from the bar, keeping revellers hic happy!
You cannot have a crazy Friday night without clicking some selfies! We spotted this duo go click-click.
@ROXY
Hip-hop + Roxy = Lit Friday night! Mumbai-based DJ Nanok (left) was the star of the nightclub’s Wasted Fridays, with DJ Felix by his side. DJ Nanok spun tracks like Temperature, Hotel Room Service and Billie Jean.
We love how Darshini Chowdhury pulls off the classic red-and-black combo in a lacy top and leggings, with tan Salvatore Ferragamo heels. “Red is my favourite because it is the colour of love. It’s a casual night-out look for me,” said the entrepreneur.
Kasturi Paul (left) and her friend Monalisa showed off hip-hop moves as they “danced throughout the night to Mad Love, Mi Gente and God’s Plan. DJ Nanok was really nice and it is good to have such guest DJs playing in the city,” said Kasturi, a cabin crew member.
“I was out with my friend and we really had a great time at Roxy. I really enjoyed the vibe,” said Sonia Saxena, cool in black crop top, blue skirt and lace-ups.
A rocking party calls for shots! Kamikaze shots kept flowing from the bar as the night progressed.
