The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to examine Cyrus Mistry Investment’s plea to expunge certain remarks made by the apex court in its verdict last year.

Senior advocate Harish Salve, appearing for Tata Sons, said his clients had “serious objections” to the plea to expunge of observations. However, a bench headed by Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana agreed to list Mistry’s plea after 10 days, upon a request made by senior counsel Janak Dwarakadas.

According to senior counsel Dwarakadas, the impugned judgment had made certain unwarranted observations which adversely affected the “reputation, integrity and character” of Mistry. Hence the same ought to be expunged/deleted from the records.

“The court is convened through video conferencing. Heard learned senior counsel for the applicant. List after 10 days,” the bench also comprising Justice A.S.Bopanna and Justice Hima Kohli said.
