New Delhi, Aug. 25: IT services provider HCL Technologies today said it was acquiring US-based Control Point Solutions for $20.8 million.

According to the agreement, HCL will acquire four delivery centres along with over 200 professionals of Control Point.

The $20.8 million is an enterprise valuation of Control Point, and HCL is acquiring the company on a cash-free and debt-free basis.

Control Point provides voice, data and wireless telecommunications expense management services.

“The strategic acquisition of Control Point Solutions is in line with HCL’s goal to make strategic, platform-based acquisitions which give us sustainable competitive advantage in chosen verticals,” Ranjit Narasimhan, president and CEO of BPO services, HCL Technologies, said.

“This acquisition enhances HCL’s ability to become an end-to-end provider of business process outsourcing services in the attractive telecommunications expense management space,” Narasimhan said.

Langham Capital Ltd acted as a financial adviser to HCL in the transaction.

The acquisition is subject to certain closing conditions, HCL said.

Bob McMullan, CEO of Control Point Solutions, said, “The decision to join HCL Technologies is yet another strategic move aimed at advancing our position in the marketplace. It will enable Control Point to focus on and grow its core BPO business in both the enterprise and carrier segments.”
