Aurobindo Pharma has received tentative approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Efavirenz capsules, an anti-AIDS drug. The company has received the approval for 50 mg, 100 mg and 200 mg capsules, according to a company statement. This is the 33rd generic approval given by FDA and 18th in the anti-retroviral (ARV) line. It is the first generic alternative to ‘Sustiva Capsules’ of Bristol Myers Squibb Co.
