Gold price rises

Mumbai, April 27: Gold prices firmed up on the bullion market here today on heavy retail demand on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. Standard gold (99.5 purity) rose Rs 135 per ten grams to Rs 14,830 from Rs 14,695 previously. Pure gold (99.9 purity) also firmed up Rs 140 to Rs 14,905 compared with Rs 14,765.

Airline case

Mumbai, April 27: Bombay High Court has asked Jet Airways and Sahara India Commercial Corporation to sit across the table and sort out their issues by Wednesday, while allowing Jet to give three aircraft under dry lease to Turkish Airlines.

Reliance oil

New Delhi, April 27: Reliance Industries has resumed crude production from the KG-D6 block. The output is expected to rise to 40,000 barrels per day by the end of June, officials said. The output was 18,000 barrels a day before it was stopped on March 22.

Cobra Beer

London, April 27: Adrian McKeon, the chief executive of Cobra Beer, has quit amid speculation that the company’s UK business may be taken over by Molson Coors, the American brewer of Carling lager and Worthington ale.
