AI faces fresh trouble

New Delhi, June 19: In further trouble for the strike-hit Air India, 22 of its around 120 executive pilots have reported “sick” at a time the national carrier is struggling to maintain its international operations. Air India chairman and managing director Rohit Nandan said six other pilots remained absent from work as three did not have a passport and three others applied for emergency leave.

ONGC pact

New Delhi, June 19: State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has signed an agreement with China’s largest oil firm CNPC to jointly explore for oil and gas worldwide.

Slovenia trade

Calcutta, June 19: Bilateral trade between India and Slovenia is set to double in three years after a brief slump in 2010-11 when total trade volume declined to $276 million against $310.7 million in 2009-10.

Israel hope

New Delhi, June 19: Israel ambassador to India Alon Ushpiz today said bilateral trade was expected to treble from $5 billion in 2011 after the signing of the free trade agreement between the two countries by the end of 2012.

Vodafone tariff

Calcutta, June 19: Vodafone today slashed 3G tariffs. In Calcutta, plans start from Rs 42 for 150 MB of data use for prepaid and Rs 100 for 300 MB for postpaid customers.
