Alstom net jumps to Rs 8.5 crore

Chennai, May 10 (PTI): Power equipment maker Alstom Ltd today reported a 39.40 per cent growth in net profit for the last three months of 2004-05 at Rs 8.49 crore compared with Rs 6.09 crore during the corresponding period in the previous fiscal.

The company declared a 17.5 per cent dividend for 2004-05.

Alstom’s turnover for the fourth quarter rose 35 per cent to Rs 240 crore, up from Rs 185.16 crore in the same period last year.

Alstom said it incurred an expenditure of Rs 14.8 crore on employee voluntary separation scheme, which affected the net profits.

The order input increased by 38 per cent.
