Motihari, Jan. 14: A youth, identified as Ismail Miya, was shot dead in Jhitkahiyan village under Adapur police station last evening. Miya was a resident of Pipra village.

The villagers chased the killers but only one of them was caught.

The rest managed to escape, while shooting in the air. The arrested man has been identified as Shailendra Kumar Baitha, a resident of Bakhari village under Adapur police station.

Adapur station house officer T.K. Mishra confirmed the incident and said the police are investigating the case.

Raxaul sub-divisional police officer Rajiv Ranjan told The Telegraph after interrogating Baitha, that they have learnt Miya had criminal antecedents.

Ranjan added Miya was also involved in looting cash and motorcycle from one Manoj Kumar Singh on Tinkoni Road, last week.
